Our Paver Sealing Process
1. Repairing Sunken Pavers
Sunken areas are not merely cosmetic concerns; they can signal potential structural issues within the paved surface. Ignoring these sunken pavers may lead to further settling, erosion, and damage to adjacent pavers. By repairing sunken areas during the restoration process, we are able to prevent further escalation, and therefore preserve the structural longevity of the paved surface.
2. Old Sealer Removal
If your pavers have been sealed previously, we must first strip the remaining sealer to ensure that it does not interfere with our high quality urethane sealer . Our seasoned professionals are familiar with the art of properly stripping, ensuring the removal of old sealers without compromising your surfaces. Whether it is previous solvent-based or water-based sealers, our approach guarantees a clean slate for your pavers.
3. Oil & Rust Stain
Surface Treatment
Oil & rust stains can take a toll on the overall appearance of a surface. Before applying new sealer, our team of professionals will treat these stains to ensure only the highest quality outcome. Our technicians carry a long list of specialized products that are used to effectively minimize the toughest of stains.
4. Efflorescence Removal
Efflorescence in paver restoration refers to an unwanted discoloration that is caused by salt and other minerals moving to the surface of a paver over time. This can be witnessed as a white, chalky residue on the surface of the pavers and usually when pavers have aged in the sun without being properly sealed. If present, we will treat efflorescence and remove the unwanted mineral deposits from the surface of your pavers.
5. Organic Matter Removal
Organic matter refers to the growth of weeds, moss, algae, and mold that may be present on the surface of the pavers. Our team identifies the types and extent of organic matter growth present and tailor our removal approach accordingly. In all cases we will treat the surface with an organic matter cleaner and follow up with pressure cleaning to ensure that the pavers are 100% clean.
6. Neutralization
Neutralization is an important but often overlooked step in the paver sealing process. Neutralization refers to the process of restoring a proper pH value within the surface. This is a necessary step in order to neutralize the active ingredients within the cleaners and prepare your surface to receive the application of the new sealer. This will ensure a proper bond and mitigate any chance of premature sealer failure.
7. Resanding Joints
Re-sanding the joints of pavers serves many integral purposes that contribute to the longevity, stability, and aesthetics of a paved surface. We use the highest quality sand on the market, offering 6 different colors to chose from. Our sand also meets ASTM-C144 gradation, which is more stable in the paver joints and ensures long term performance of the segmental system once combined with our joint stabilizing sealer.
8. Surface Seal Treatment
Finally! Your paved surface is ready for sealing. Having your pavers sealed offers many long term benefits that improve the overall aesthetic of your outdoor spaces. This includes the obvious color enhancement and visual appeal, but also includes protection from everyday wear and tear, staining, fading, as well as reducing upkeep and weed growth. We use the highest quality urethane sealers with joint stabilization and have 3 different finish options available.

Wet Look/Gloss Finish: A wet look finish enhances the color of the pavers, and provides the highest level of sheen.

Semi Gloss/Satin Finish: A satin finish enhances the color of the pavers, while offering a moderate level of sheen.

Natural Look/Matte Finish: A natural finish offers color enhancement with a minimal level of sheen.
